Just a week after proudly proclaiming that I've managed to keep up with my Etymology Wednesday series, I let you down. So to you, dear readers, I extend my apologies. On a positive note, my last post seems to have created something of a kerfuffle on the interwebs, touching around 45,000 views last week. This is mainly due to a re-linking from Kottke, Gizmodo and Laughing Squid, which is nice. Hello new readers, and welcome!
My excuse for missing last week's word workout is that I was skiing. Before I left for France I purchased a GoPro HD video camera. Don't be put off by the naff name, this is quite an incredible piece of kit. Around the size of two boxes of matches, it can shoot full HD video through an amazing wide angle (120degree) lens. I fabricated a boom from the leg of an old tripod to shoot the video below, but I also wore it on my head a fair bit. There's a ton more footage, which I'll try to cut together in the coming days, but in the meantime, here's a medium paced run down Mira, from the top of La Grande Rochette.
